On February 22, 2018, after being targeted, I was illegally fired by AARP for being gay.
On March 15, 2024, 6+ years later, with a unanimous decision by a jury of 8,
I WON MY LAWSUIT AGAINST AARP!!!!
This Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 the final hearing in DC Court of Appeals begins 9:30. We are third in line, and each hearing will be about 45-60 minutes.

I hope that you listen to AARP stand before the DC Court of Appeals and continue to protect and defend those who targeted and discriminated against me once again. This is the direct opposite of what they have argued for decades when it comes to age discrimination, including an Amicus Brief filed to the Supreme Court in September 2019 - a brief that helped prove age discrimination. Let's be clear, discrimination is discrimination. When you start to weaken protections for one aspect it is a domino effect for all. Their arguments go against what the courts have upheld for decades- you don't need someone to say the quiet part out loud about discrimination - if that were needed then discrimination laws are useless. Who would stupidly tell someone they are doing something illegal. No, it is looking at comparators, shifting reasons for termination, treating an employee and applying the rules differently depending upon the individual.
The true questions at hand here: Why did AARP spend millions protecting and defending illegal actions and the people who targeted and discriminated against me? Remember, they were found guilty of illegally firing me. Why have they defamed and gaslit me for the last 8 years? Why when the evidence proved I did nothing wrong, did they not end the litigation, settle with me and force an NDA on me to ensure I could not speak openly about what they did to me? Why did they do all these things? Finally why, tomorrow, in DC Court of Appeals will they be arguing to remove discrimination protections and effectively gut the DC Human Rights Act for all DC Residents and those who work here?
As this horrible chapter comes to a close, I am calling on AARP to share all their direct legal expenses associated with my lawsuit for the last 8 years. My legal expenses are all public, you can download them now at in the litigation documents with the link below, shouldn't the non-profits be too?
