Directed. . .

Once we were at trial, AARP had to come up with some reason why the straight Mr. Herd was not fired for doing exactly the same thing that I was fired for. There had to be some reason. . . .other than targeting and discriminating against me. It didn't help that Mr. Herd having multiple meetings with ECO and HR had come to light nor that Mr. Herd initiated that IM communication, screenshotted it and sent it to Mr. Easely at ECO. But they had a strategy, similar to them (allegedly) directing Mr. Flanagan to say I was fired for lying (which is not what my official termination was for), it now became that I DIRECTED Mr. Herd to attend and he felt he had to. Thankfully, Mr. Herd told the truth. . . .
If you have read my previous posts, you will know that Mr. Herd was the one who received the invitation to the Allstate Sugar Bowl from then President Pam DuFour and came to me with the reasons why he thought we should attend (the link to that post is below). He is also a HUGE college football fan, none of this sounds like I forced him to attend, does it? Also, how can a manager force an employee to work over a holiday and spend money on their spouse traveling as well?!? I certainly didn't have that power or authority. If he felt like I was forcing him, wouldn't he go to my manager as I would be out of line? He didn't because he wanted to go, he started the whole thing. This was another way AARP was trying to hide their discrimination.
My amazing lawyers quickly put this to rest, because it wasn't true. When pressed, Mr. Easley could not back up his false statements and quickly retreated with "I don't know that. I don't know their conversations." But he was trying to say I forced Mr. Herd to attend. . . .what a POS.

He had to finally agree with what was true, not the false story that I DIRECTED (forced) him to go.
AARP then tried the same thing with Mr. Loizzi the (allegedly) gay man tried to continue the narrative that Mr. Herd didn't want to go, that I encouraged him. There was only one issue. Mr. Herd had already testified and (THANKFULLY) told the truth, so Mr. Loizzi was once again (allegedly) lying on the stand- Remember he got that promotion and hybrid work schedule 8 months before trial and its also hard to keep the lying narrative going. . .he seemed to get confused because I believe he had a mission - "Tell everyone that I forced Mr. Herd to go on a trip he didn't want to go on and thus clearly I was not discriminated against because I am a horrible manager forcing my employees to do whatever I want."

Thankfully, the jury saw thru this bullshit, because that is all it was. AARP had to make new reasons up during trial to justify only firing me and no straight employees that we showed did the same thing. While I know Mr. Herd turned on me, and I have more coming on that, I am thankful that he was honest during his time on the stand and never said I "directed", "encouraged" or "forced" him to go.
This is the REAL AARP, instead of looking at what they did wrong, they continue to try to hide their discrimination.
