Who & Why?

Since becoming public with my discriminatory firing by AARP in 2023, 5 years AFTER I was illegally fired the two questions I constantly get asked are:

  1. Who at AARP decided to continue this litigation for what is now almost 8 years?

  2. Why would AARP continue this litigation when they have lost at every stage, spending millions upon millions of dollars and continue to lose?

While these are two critical questions, the only answer I have: I HAVE NO IDEA?!?

What I do know is what AARP did - AARP did what all rich defendants who are guilty do but refuse to accept reality and hope it goes their way- they tried to outspend me. We have seen this with another notable player who is currently president. Deny, Delay, and Gaslight.

While I do not have access to billions of tax-free member derived money like AARP, I have been able to pay my attorney's and fight their PROVEN DISCRIMINATION unlike many others who didn't have the resources. I have spent almost $1M dollars to date.

Here is the Leadership at AARP/ASI for the last 8 years of this litigation:

  • Lawrence Flanagan, CEO of AARP Services, Inc., was according to AARP the "Ultimate Decision Maker" for my termination as stated in legal documents

    • I was the second gay man Larry fired, even though Larry "couldn't recall" firing the other person for 6 years, not until week two of trial while he was on stand

    • We both sued, they settled out of court with him and of course I won my lawsuit

  • Jo Ann "JoJo" Jenkins - AARP CEO and Larry Flanagan's boss and member of AARP Services Board

    • JoJo was CEO until November 2024

    • AARP had 7 discrimination lawsuits filed while JoJo was CEO, the most of any AARP CEO

    • JoJo is the highest paid AARP CEO in its history

  • John Larew, current CEO of AARP Services, Inc., replaced good ole Larry

    • Represented AARP in the 30B6 deposition, during this deposition Mr. Larew looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there

    • Mr. Larew also testified for AARP at trial

    • Mr. Larew has signed the TWO court ordered bonds totaling $4.4M which probably cost almost $200,000 in fees

      • One of those bonds was filed late due to "someone haveing a death in the family"

  • Dr. Myechia Minter-Jordan AARP CEO since November 2024 and issuer of a Cease and Desist stating that she knows about my lawsuit and threatened further legal action

    • Since she becoming CEO, AARP is responsible for over $200,000 in interest on the award and legal fees

    • Myechia will be the first AARP CEO to pay out over $5 million in court ordered dollars due to AARP being found guilty of discrimination

      • JoJo got out just in time and left her holding the bag. NO IDEA why Myechia would want to be the one held responsible, but that is what has happened. She could have ended this, instead she has continued it. She is complicit along with all the others.

    • Myechia will be the first AARP CEO to have discrimination CASE LAW written with AARP being the guilty party. This Case Law will be used in other discrimination lawsuits helping those victims prove discrimination. I never wanted this to happen to me, but I am heartened to know my deep suffering will help other victims. Also self-inflicted as they could end the appeals and pay what the court says they owe after losing their first round of appeals! 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • Scott Frisch - AARP COO and CFO

    • Named and deposed as part of the lawsuit

    • Witness for the defense-Which once again Scott I cannot THANK YOU ENOUGH for that 15 minutes on the stand. Your short time on the stand really helped prove my case to the jury! THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️❤️❤️!

Here are the AARP Board Members who have served since I was fired these are in addition to Jo Ann Jenkins that I can find using Google.

The AARP Board of Directors is the governing body responsible for setting AARP's policies and strategic direction.  They also oversee the organization's finances and approve the budget - pretty sure hundreds of thousands in additional legal fees each year would be notable. Also, I have tagged these individuals in posts on LinkedIn, esuring they were aware of what happened to me - several of them blocked me. I would assert everyone of them is complicit in my ongoing discrimination and suffering:

  • Lloyd E. Johnson

  • Robert Blancato

  • Beth Ellard

  • Margot James Copeland

  • Joseph F. Coughlin

  • Martha Dally (previously Martha M. Hayes)

  • Jeffrey D. Dunn

  • Doris Koo

  • Rosanna A. Márquez

  • Libby Sartain

  • Julio A. Portalatin

  • Neal Lane

  • Joan R. Ruff

  • Annette Franqu

  • Martha M. Hayes

  • David Windley

So, there is it, these are the leaders who would logically be the decision makers. Remember, AARP is a non-profit that says it works to make life better. They know they targeted and discriminated against me, but it seems they continue to use all that tax-free money to try to destroy and silence me. It won't happen and the CASE LAW that is about to happen will haunt AARP for a long, long time. Karma is a BITCH!
